PM supports Palestine statehood
India on Saturday gave an assertion of chartering an independent foreign policy course during the 20-minute address of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh before the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Watched by members of his family and the Indian official delegation in full strength, the Prime Minister spoke about a “deficit in global governance” and the “negative dimensions” of globalisation and global inter-dependence, which the world, he said, a few years ago had taken for granted. He thus took his theory of inequitable distribution of the benefits of globalisation forward — which he had introduced in his 2008 address to the General Assembly.
Speaking just a day after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who announced the dispatch of his application for membership to the United Nations, Singh treated the statehood issue as an achievable future target and said, “We look forward to welcoming Palestine as an equal member of the United Nations.”

The Virtue of Fasting Six Days of Shawwaal
It was narrated on the authority of Abu Ayyoob Al-Ansaari (ral) that the Prophet (sal) said:"Whoever fasts Ramadhaan and then fasts six days of Shawwaal, it is as if he fasts the whole year." [Muslim]
It was narrated on the authority of Thawbaan (ral) that the Prophet (sal) said: "Fasting Ramadhaan equals fasting ten months, and fasting six days [of Shawwaal] equals fasting two months. So both equal fasting the whole year." In another narration, he said: "Whoever fasts six days after breaking the fast [of Ramadhaan], it will be as if he fasted the whole year. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgment] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit].} [Quran 6:160]" [Ahmad, Ad-Daarimi, Ibn Maajah, and An-Nasaa’i] [Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Hibaan: Saheeh]

Eid ul Fitr Prayer held in Kanyakumari District.
Eid ul Fitr prayer organised by Tamilnadu Tawheed Jam'ath was held in various parts of Kanyakumari Dist on 31.08.2011. Hundreds of men, women and children participated in this prayer which was held in open grounds(Eid Musallah) instead of Masjids as prescribed by Allah's Messenger (PBUH). Prayers were conducted soon after the sunrise.
There was tension in various parts of the district as the police rejected the conducting of Eid prayers in open areas. Atlast the true duas of our well wishers and the social works done by TNTJ in this district and its goodwill all over the state had created the situation conducive in for us, all praise to our Almighty. There was also continuous rain in the district on the eve of Eid.
Inspite of all these hindrances, flocks of people participated enthusiastically. This showed the true and complete belief in Allah that their duas will be answered and he answered the people's duas by postponing the rain by more than 12 hours.
